I'm pretty sure somebody wrote this about ella fitzgerald..but here's bits and pieces of it:

Ella! Ella! Ella Ella we will never let you go
We can still feel Ella all around us

There's a song called "Hearing Ella Sing" by Patty Austin. Sorry I couldn't find the lyrics for it to check if it was the song you are looking for, maybe you can find them to see if it's it.
Im doing a music project on her and i need to know her famous songs and albums….why she wrote them and how she changed the world…thank you.
The list is endless…but worth every note.
"Take the 'A' Train", "A Tisket, a Tasket", "Mr. Paganini", "Puttin' on the Ritz", to name a few,
plus two surprisingly erotic numbers, "Love for Sale" and "Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered".
If you want an idea of the range of her talent, get the 16-disc set called "The Complete Songbooks"
(expensive, but worth it!), or the single-disc "Best of the Songbooks".
Ella didn't write her own music, but recorded the music of some of the best songwriters of the 20th century—the Gershwins, Duke Ellington, Rodgers and Hart, and Johnny Mercer, among others.
She pioneered the jazz style called scat–singing a melody without words. She was an enthusiastic performer who appealed to audiences of all ages, races, and nationalities.
As Duke Ellington himself said of her (rightfully so), she was beyond category.
